FACT SHEET

Barn Raising™ is a community-based, 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization headquartered in Massachusetts with a mission to help job seekers gain the skills and confidence they need to find employment or start a new business.  Taking its name from an early American tradition in which whole communities gathered to help each other “raise” or build their barns, the Barn Raising™  program elevates networking to a new level by providing a cost-effective system for job seekers to share their journeys and optimize their networks.

Barn Raising™  has developed and tested a seven-step process that has been both well received and effective.  To date, more than 300 people have gone through the Barn Raising™ program.  New participants are now joining Barn Raising™ at the rate of 20 per month.

Barn Raising™  was established by Dana Aaron, Ph.D., in 2003.   Dr. Aaron has a long career in administration for higher education and business, including at the VP level.   He has brought his experience in developing training solutions, maximizing customer service, and successful management recruitment to the design and delivery of the Barn Raising™  program.

Barn Raising™  has held most of its events within a 60 mile radius of Boston, but is ready and eager to work with sponsoring organizations throughout New England.

Corporations, state agencies, colleges, career centers, and non-profit organizations are supporting Barn Raising™ .  Barn Raising™ is grateful to these sponsors for their leadership contributions to Barn Raising’s™ development and their support of our job seekers.

Barn Raising™ is beginning to attract media attention, some at the national level.

There are many ways to help Barn Raising™, including volunteering and donations.
